Child & Adolescent Service

Child and Adolescent

At Modawa, we understand that adolescence is a unique and sensitive stage of life — full of change, challenges, and opportunities for growth.

Our Adolescent Psychiatry Services are designed to support teenagers and their families with compassionate, evidence-based, and developmentally appropriate care. Just like our adult services, we follow a full Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) approach so every young person receives coordinated care from specialists in adolescent mental health.

Comprehensive Psychiatric Assessment

Your teenager’s journey begins with a detailed assessment conducted by a Consultant or Specialist Psychiatrist trained in adolescent mental health.

During this session, the psychiatrist will:

  • Understand the teen’s emotional, behavioral, and developmental concerns
  • Review family, school, and social background
  • Explore symptoms such as mood changes, anxiety, attention difficulties, or behavioral challenges
  • Establish a clear diagnosis and individualized treatment plan

Regular follow-ups every 1–2 months help monitor progress, school functioning, family relationships, and any needed treatment adjustments.

Tailored Psychotherapy for Adolescents

Depending on the treatment plan, the psychiatrist may refer the teenager to one of our child & adolescent therapists for structured psychotherapy sessions.

We provide evidence-based therapies specifically designed for teenagers, which include:

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Focused on managing anxiety, depression, and negative thinking patterns.
  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy for Adolescents (DBT-A)
Helps with emotional regulation, impulsivity, and relationship difficulties.
  • Trauma-Focused Therapy / EMDR for Adolescents
For youth who have experienced trauma, bullying, loss, or distressing events.
  • Family-Based Therapy
Supporting parents and teens together, improving communication, boundaries, and conflict management.
  • Behavioral and School-Support Interventions
Especially helpful for ADHD, academic challenges, or behavioral concerns.

MDT-Based Coordinated Care

In our MDT meetings, your teenager’s case is reviewed by psychiatrists, psychologists, and therapists to ensure complete, integrated care.

This approach allows us to coordinate:

  • Medication management (when needed)
  • Psychotherapy
  • Academic support strategies
  • Family guidance
  • Follow-up planning

We work closely with families, schools, and caregivers to ensure the teenager is supported across all areas of life — emotional, social, academic, and behavioral.

At Modawa, our goal is to guide adolescents and their families with compassion, respect, and scientific expertise — helping young people navigate challenges, strengthen resilience, and thrive during these formative years.

We Believe

That every person deserves care That truly understands them.
